Tancook Island

Big Tancook and little Tancook are 2 islands located 6 miles off the southern coast of Nova Scotia in Mahone Bay.  These two islands are accessible by passenger ferry - the William G. Ernst is stationed at Big Tancook and makes daily runs to and from the historic yachting community of Chester.

Tancook Museum

The museum was officially opened in 1995 and features articles on the Island with old tools and items from the Island.

Indian Point Marine Farms

Indian Point Marine Farms Ltd. has been growing mussels in the waters of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia since 1982. We are a small family-owned business that takes pride in the quality of our mussels. We work hard to ensure the sustainability of our business and to maintain the water quality that produces our fine products. Our goal is to produce good, safe and nutritious food while minimizing the impact on the marine environment that makes this production possible.

Lunenburg County Winery

The winery is located at Hackmatack Farm, a commercial highbush blueberry farm.
come take a pleasant drive into the country and visit us, to taste wine, to pick berries,
picnic, or tour the winery and N.S. craft store.

Nature’s Point of View was set up to offer the unique ‘Nova Scotia experience’ through year round professionally guided wilderness and adventure tourism activities.

Parkdale Maplewood Museum

Located inland from the Lighthouse Trail on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, this museum has a wealth of local heritage to share with you. Take a walk through our Museum and Heritage gardens to see how the ancestors of our communities lived. From the Country Store to the Library to the Cobbler’s Shop, we show how the people of yesteryear survived and flourished.

Village Glassworks

On site at Village Glassworks we design and craft stained glass panels, lamps, mirrors and many suncatcher patterns.  We also feature other Canadian Maritime made gifts including pottery, pewter, candles and cards.

Dynamite Trail

This 10 km trail runs between the Chester Connection Trail to the East and the Bay to Bay and Adventure Trails in the Town of Mahone Bay. Access includes hikers, bicycles, ATV’s, snowmobiles, skies, and horses.

LaHave River Campground

We offer you fun camping at our secluded riverside campground. Located in Newburne on the north branch of the LaHave River, we lie at the foot of a hill 250m (700 ft.) away from the highway. No road noise!
There are lots of outdoor games and two great spots in the river for swimming. Campers gather at the Shelter for picking and singing, games, parties and, on occasion, suppers.
This is our service building that houses the office and camp store, washrooms, and laundry.
We invite you to come camp with us in Newburne this summer anytime from May 15th to October 1st.
