The Church Lake Public Access site includes a parking lot for 3 - 6 vehicles, a dock and boat put-in for canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats. The lake is too shallow for big boats. The dock is wheelchair accessible. Address: 311 Newburne Road, Newburne. 30 minutes from Blockhouse.

Cookville Provincial Park is a small community-operated day-use picnic park located in the South Shore region. In 2004, to commemorate the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg’s 125th anniversary, Indian Falls was designated as a Municipal Park. Known for having some of the area’s best fishing, Indian Falls also offers a picnic area, on-site privies, walking trails, rock beach and look off points. Located on the west side of the LaHave River in Conquerall Bank, this lovely riverside park is a great spot to lay out a blanket and enjoy the views or to host a family picnic. Mushamush Beach Park is a municipal treasure! Located on Mushamush Lake in Sweetland, it is a pleasant drive from anywhere in our Municipality.The park is open May through to October from 9 am until dusk for swimming, picnicing, paddling; or a leisurely walk.
