After two years of Covid related delays, the Nova Scotia Country Music Association has scheduled the inductions of four individuals in Bridgewater on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
“I am pleased that we are able to proceed with the induction into the Hall of Fame of these talented and independently chosen performers,” said Association President Roger Bleasdale. “Each inductee represents the high standard of performance that is the hallmark of country music in Nova Scotia. I congratulate each new inductee and welcome them into the Hall of Fame.”
The four inductees are: Annapolis Valley singer/songwriter Ruth Manning of Prospect, Kings County; Cape Breton singer/songwriter Evelyn MacRae of Port Hawkesbury; and singer Alan Butler of Coldbrook, Kings County. A well-known Halifax area singer, the late Ruby Daley is being inducted posthumously.
Those being inducted this year are actually inductees for the year 2020, when Covid restrictions prevented an induction event.
The induction ceremony and concert will be held at Bridgewater Baptist Church, 564 Glen Allen Drive on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Doors open at 6:00 PM Tickets are $25 for theatre seating.
The event will also include a 50/50 draw, a raffle for a new acoustic guitar with case, the Hall of Fame “First Edition Showcase CD,” door prizes and an opportunity to purchase a membership in the Hall of Fame Association.
