Provincial Woodland Owner of the Year - Field Day
Come spend a few hours in the woods touring the 2021 Provincial Woodland Owner of the Year woodland and meet the youngest winners in the program’s history, Jonathan and Abbey Veinotte. This free event is open from 9am until 4pm, Saturday September 18th and is family friendly in the fresh air and open forest. There will be various stops in the tour where you can interact with department scientists and other exhibitors to learn more about ecological and sustainable forest management, lunch for purchase, local vendors, and musical entertainment.
The Nova Scotia Woodland Owner of the Year Award recognizes landowners for outstanding stewardship of their woodlands. It was developed to encourage woodlot owners to practice sustainable stewardship and to increase public awareness of the importance of privately held woodlands in Nova Scotia.
