Municipal Activity and Recreation Complex
The Municipal Activity and Recreation Complex in Dayspring, better known as the MARC, is a year round outdoor recreation facility free for public usage. With 100 acres of open space, including fields, woods, ponds, and trails, the MARC is perfect for flying a kite, having a picnic, stargazing, and more! You can even book a softball field for a friendly game of ball. In the winter, the MARC is used for cross country skiing, skating, and tobogganing. With so many offerings, the MARC is ideal to meet all of your recreation needs!
The MARC has some exciting Trails, including the Panikiskiaq Pathway. We have 10 kilometers of hiking trails, which you can check out before your arrival through our MARC Trail Map in Colour. If you have a need for speed, check out our bike trails! We have 2 maps of the bike trails so visitors can choose their route by difficulty rating or by trail name.
When it comes to Play, the MARC has it all! There is pond that can be used for fishing and canoeing in the Spring and Summer, an 18 Hole Disc Golf Course, a BMX/Mountain bike skills park, and two community playboxes located seasonally near the picnic/pond area and by the ballfields. When using our community playboxes, please remember to return the toys so others can also enjoy them!
If you are interested in booking our Softball fields, please call 902-541-1343 to inquire, or email recreation@modl.ca.
Even in the Winter, the MARC is still open for outdoor recreation. When the snow starts flying, enjoy our pond for skating (conditions permitting), our two toboggan runs, or our 10 kilometers of skiing trails (ungroomed)! You can borrow our skis and snow shoes using our Equipment Loan Form.
