The rail trail tours take place on the Centennial Trail in Bridgewater and connects to the LaHave River Trail in Cookville. These historical walking tours in Bridgewater focus on the railway in the area as well as the role the lumber industry played in the development of the Town of Bridgewater and Lunenburg County.

Bay to Bay Trail
Location: Lunenburg Region
A 10 km trail along the “Lunenburg Spur” that connects the Towns of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay. Also a short 1 km section from the end of the Back Harbour Trail in Lunenburg to Garden Lots.
Access includes hikers, bicycles, ATV’s, snowmobiles, skies, and horses. Parking is available at access points along the trail.
Blue Rocks
Location: Lunenburg Region
A small village about a six minute drive from the Town of Lunenburg. The little community of Blue Rocks is advertised as “Lunenburg’s answer to Peggy’s Cove”. Still a working fishing village with blue slate rocks on the edge of the ocean making it an artisan and photographers muse. The fish shack sitting in the water is the most photographed building in the county.

Bull Run Trail
Location: Lunenburg Region
A 27km trail connecting the Centennial Trail in the Town of Bridgewater and to the Region of Queens. This trail features a covered bridge in the community of Hebbville along with various restaurants and services along the route.
Parking is available at access points along the trail. Access includes hikers, bicycles, ATV’s, snowmobiles, skies, and horses.

Cherry Hill Beach
Location: Lunenburg Region
Cherry Hill Beach offers a direct route to happiness via its empty curve of fine grey sand, exposed water and endless sky.
A wonderful beach for surfers or a nice place to walk on the rocks and enjoy an afternoon.
This beach is located off the 331 Highway in the community of Cherry Hill.
Directions: Turn at the firehall. Beach access isn’t marked.
Crescent Beach
Location: Petite Riviere & Area
Connecting the historic LaHave Islands to the mainland, this beach stretches like a sandy road beaconing sunseekers, beach explorers, and wave splashers. It is also the only beach in Lunenburg Region where you are allowed to drive a vehicle directly on the sand!
Whether you’re a first-time explorer or returning visitor, you’ll easily see why this gem and the surrounding coastal beauty inspire the work of the area’s many artists.
Please keep pets on leash. No camping permitted onsite.
Dynamite Trail
Location: Lunenburg Region
Runs: Mahone Bay to Martins River
Length: 10km (one way)
Duration: 2 hours (one way)
Rules: shared-use trail, expect to see OHV’s, skiers, bikes, snowshoers, walkers, dogs on leash, horses.
This 10 km trail runs between the Chester Connection Trail to the East and the Bay to Bay and Adventure Trails in the Town of Mahone Bay.
