Every Friday morning May 26-Oct 7 at the Chester Municipal Heritage Society Station, 37 Smith Rd.

Come out and enjoy a relaxing Friday afternoon from 2-7 pm and pick up a variety of locally grown/raised products, meet local artisans and unwind with live music, childminding by donation and grab dinner at the BBQ/Food vendors.

Where History and Industry make Art! reFoundry is excited to open the doors of their studio on the grounds of the Lunenburg Foundry. Unique vintage art pieces made from Foundry wood patterns will be on display and for sale. Everything from large gear patterns to creative wood lamps, tables, collages and small wall hangings, and all are one-of-a-kind collectible pieces that celebrate the history and craftsmanship of a bygone era.

The 18th annual LaHave Folk Festival will take place on Sunday September 3th from 2-10 p.m. Located at #1136 Hwy 325 in Maitland, Lunenburg County (Between Bridgewater and Blockhouse). It is a wonderful, whimsical exhibit of a variety of art forms produced by artists from all over the world. This years musical line-up offers a diversity of musical genres.

From June to September, enjoy ten weeks of FREE Tuesday night musical experiences along the banks of the LaHave River in the pavilion at Pijinuiskaq Park.

Operating for 39 years, the Lunenburg Farmers’ Market is a vibrant community gathering place. It is very common to see our market-goers enjoying their morning coffee while chatting with vendors and friends.

We provide a strong, vibrant year-round venue for local vendors. We also provide free space for local community groups.

Our vendors come from all over and produce a wide range of fabulous products – fresh seasonal produce, grass-fed meats, free-range eggs, fresh and smoked fish, plants, fresh flowers, cheese, French bread, wine, preserves, honey, maple syrup, beautiful artisan items and more. You can visit us every Thursday morning of the year. During the months of May-September, we are located at the Lunenburg Arena, hours are 8am – 12pm. In September we move inside the Lunenburg Community Centre. In January our hours change to 8:30 am – 12:00 noon.

Your guide will fill your head with colourful tales of hangings, hauntings, superstitions, and sightings.

Teaches the skills and knowledge needed to care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children. Topics include the rights and responsibilities of a babysitter, first aid, dealing with emergencies, childcare skills, and ideas for fun. Bring an infant sized teddy bear or doll, pencil, and lunch/snacks. This is a safety education course, not a guarantee of competence. Ages 11-14.

This gentle yoga class with Lisa MacGillivary uses mindful, slower paced movements, and postures to encourage you to feel into your body and center your awareness to allow you to fully relax within each posture.  An emphasis on breathing, gentle movements for flexibility, and strengthening to increase range of motion and promote healing and relaxation. Make a cute fairy lantern with a mason jar, tealight, and some forest finds. We’ll also gather natural materials from the woods (leaves, moss, branches, pebbles, acorns, dried grasses etc.) to decorate our whimsical fairy houses. We’ll take a leisurely walk through the park in search of fairies before reading a fairy-inspired story. Fun for all ages!

Each block focuses on a famous artist where we recreate some of their art works or create new individual works inspired by them. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with different materials and learn new techniques as well as develop their art skills. Projects can include painting, drawing, clay work, sculpture, fibre arts etc. This is a great opportunity to explore your creative side and try different art methods. Ages 5-12.

The 2023 Annual Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival is taking place from September 23rd to October 9th at various locations in the Town of Mahone Bay.

Scarecrows will be on display throughout the town during this time frame, and events will be taking place on specific dates. The dates of the events can be found on the Scarecrow Festival & Antique Fair poster below. This festival includes an antique fair, a pumpkin walking path, yard sales, a legion breakfast, and much more! There is fun for the whole family!

At this festival, there will also be the 1st Annual Nova Scotia Fruit Pie Baking Contest & Sale. How exciting! This fun-filled event is happening on September 30th… see the Pie Baking Contest poster below for more information.

Who is ready for the greatest fireworks show in Nova Scotia?

Join us on Saturday, September 23rd (rain date Sunday, September 24th) at the New Germany Legion Grounds, where we will be providing food, entertainment, games, and fireworks!

This event will begin at 4:00pm, with fireworks being set off at 8:00pm.

SECOND ANNUAL HARVEST MOON MUSIC FESTIVAL + FIREWORKS!

Mark your calendars for the finale of the 2023 Music on the Riverbank Season!

The grand finale of the 2023 Music on the Riverbank season will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in the heart of Downtown Bridgewater at Pijinuiskaq Park!

We’re planning a full evening of music and all-ages fun, hosted by Events Coordinator and emcee Jonathan Crouse. The event will include the postponed Canada Day fireworks display thanks to the good folks at the Bridgewater Fire Department!

We’ll be announcing our musical entertainment for the evening in the days to come, but performances will start at 6 p.m.

The fireworks display, which will be visible in the Old Bridge and Pijinuiskaq Park area over the river, is scheduled to take place at 8:30 p.m. (weather dependent and at the discretion of the Bridgewater Fire Department fireworks team).

The Stay Safe! program teaches applicable and age-appropriate skills, while increasing and reinforcing a youth’s capacity to improve their own safety.
