Canada Day in New Germany CANCELLED due to COVID -19

Hope we can resume activities next year
Things start in New Germany early with a Canada Day Breakfast from 7am-10am at the Anglican Church Hall (5311 Highway 10). At 8am, there will be guided Canoe/Kayak tour on the New Germany Lake and North on the Lahave River. (Registration required by contacting Greg at 902-644-2153 or gdselig@ns.sympatico.ca) At 11am, there will be an outdoor Ecumenical Church Service across from the United Church under the maples (please bring your own lawn chair) At 2:00pm the Street Parade begins from the elementary school and travels along the main street in New Germany! From 4pm-10pm there is a Garden Party on the Legion Grounds with lots of games of chance, musical entertainment, food trucks and more! At 10pm a Fireworks display begins that locals consider the best in the area!

At the 'time4Art workshops' we'll be drawing, painting, sculpting, sticking gluing, designing, constructing, exploring and creating with these fun one off art projects that will also tie into an artist from history giving you a glimpse into their world and art work.

Open to all ages but each day is aimed at a specific age group (Tues- GrdP-3 / Wed Grd4-7)

We will be open Monday to Friday, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. by appointment only. Please call 902-543-8233 to book a time to visit. Bookings can be made two weeks in advance and we a are onsite now to accept your booking.

Museum staff have implemented COVID-compliant safe practices. All provincial group and social distancing restrictions apply.

... the South Shore Exhibition is the largest agricultural exhibition in Nova Scotia. They have been around since 1891 and are located on 42 acres.

They are here to bring the fun back to the summer by offering good, old-fashioned horse & oxen pulls daily, light horse competitions, show horse events, arts & crafts, 4-H, beef & dairy displays, poultry displays, petting barn, music and performances from local groups in our Main Building, vendors selling their wares, big name country music Saturday and rock on Friday on our Main Stage, and the parade always kicks off the week on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
