This is a process in which cabbage is shredded, salted, and stomped in a barrel and then allowed to ferment for 4 to 6 weeks.

This weekend staff will be making kraut using tools that would have been needed to make enough for a family’s winter needs.

Registration is $25 which included snacks and draw prizes. Register until October 28.  Costumes are encouraged. Prize for best costume.  Draw Prizes.

Put on some comfortable footwear and join renowned local historian Peter Oickle for a walking tour of Brookside Cemetery this coming week! Peter will be giving his latest and greatest tour of Brookside Cemetery Participants are asked to gather near the York Street entrance, just north of the Cenotaph.

The cost for this event is $5 per person with proceeds going to support the Friends of the DesBrisay Museum Society. Children under 12 are free.

The next upcoming walking tour is planned for November 8, which will be a special pre-Remembrance Day walk

It will be held from 10am-2pm and consist of information based booths on our field with vendors on our top track. We have a showcase set up in the middle of the turf for clubs to showcase what they have to offer. Looking for vendors cost is $25.00/ General Public Admission is free!
