... the South Shore Exhibition is the largest agricultural exhibition in Nova Scotia. They have been around since 1891 and are located on 42 acres.

They are here to bring the fun back to the summer by offering good, old-fashioned horse & oxen pulls daily, light horse competitions, show horse events, arts & crafts, 4-H, beef & dairy displays, poultry displays, petting barn, music and performances from local groups in our Main Building, vendors selling their wares, big name country music Saturday and rock on Friday on our Main Stage, and the parade always kicks off the week on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

What a great way to have fun making sand castles and enter the contest this season.

Once your castle has been made take a picture and submit it to the sand castle competition virtual site. Include the category you’re entering in youth, adults and family.

In a summer of cancellations, including the Folk Harbour Festival, the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society will be presenting free, live concerts at the Bandstand in Lunenburg. These one hour concerts will take place on Saturday afternoons at 2 pm throughout the summer.  These concerts are meant to fill a void in the summer’s schedule of community events, and are designed with musicians, audience members, and local businesses in mind.

We work hard to bring you music all year long. Our concert series features a range of established and up-and-coming artists, both local and out-of-province. The DesBrisay Museum is now open to the public Monday to Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We have made changes on site to ensure we are compliant with COVID-19 regulations set out by the Province of Nova Scotia to ensure the safety of both staff and visitors. We ask that you please practice six feet of social/physical distancing within the museum.

In a summer of cancellations, including the Folk Harbour Festival, the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society will be presenting free, live concerts at the Bandstand in Lunenburg. These one hour concerts will take place on Saturday afternoons at 2 pm throughout the summer.  These concerts are meant to fill a void in the summer’s schedule of community events, and are designed with musicians, audience members, and local businesses in mind.

We work hard to bring you music all year long. Our concert series features a range of established and up-and-coming artists, both local and out-of-province. We strive to present four concerts in the fall and four in the spring. Our venues change throughout the town but the calibre of performers on stage is consistently top notch. You can expect smaller venues with unique and intimate performances with the artists as well as larger venues offering a bigger musical experience.  

Saturday Aug 15 Dogs welcome We are going ahead with our annual Butterfly Release. As those who have attended before know, there is ample space for physical distancing and we will follow safety protocols. Volunteers and attendees will release butterflies for those not able to attend but still wanting to remember a beloved in this lovely way.

In a summer of cancellations, including the Folk Harbour Festival, the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society will be presenting free, live concerts at the Bandstand in Lunenburg. These one hour concerts will take place on Saturday afternoons at 2 pm throughout the summer.  These concerts are meant to fill a void in the summer’s schedule of community events, and are designed with musicians, audience members, and local businesses in mind.

We work hard to bring you music all year long. Our concert series features a range of established and up-and-coming artists, both local and out-of-province. We strive to present four concerts in the fall and four in the spring. Our venues change throughout the town but the calibre of performers on stage is consistently top notch. The DesBrisay Museum is now open to the public Monday to Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We have made changes on site to ensure we are compliant with COVID-19 regulations set out by the Province of Nova Scotia to ensure the safety of both staff and visitors. We ask that you please practice six feet of social/physical distancing within the museum.

Heritage Blueberry Festival, Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Parkdale-Maplewood Community Fairgounds, #3005 Barss Corner Road, Maplewood. Traditional Lunenburg County Meal served 12:30 - 5:30 pm. Sauerkraut & Sausage, Hodge Podge, Smeltz Potatoes, Pudding, etc. Entertainment & Craft Vendors. Museum opens 9 am - 5:30 pm. Adults $15, Children $8 and under 5 free. Tour begins outside the Mariner King Inn (15 King Street) and winds its way gently up to Hillcrest Cemetery on Gallow’s Hill, with a stop at

St. John's Anglican Church along the way. The outing is open for all ages but parents are asked to use their best judgement and consider the suitability of their child for such a tour.

 Your guide will fill your head with colourful tales of hangings, hauntings, superstitions, and sightings.

In a summer of cancellations, including the Folk Harbour Festival, the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society will be presenting free, live concerts at the Bandstand in Lunenburg. These one hour concerts will take place on Saturday afternoons at 2 pm throughout the summer.  These concerts are meant to fill a void in the summer’s schedule of community events, and are designed with musicians, audience members, and local businesses in mind.

All 1 hour concerts start at 2pm at the Lunenburg Bandstand.

We work hard to bring you music all year long. Our concert series features a range of established and up-and-coming artists, both local and out-of-province. We strive to present four concerts in the fall and four in the spring. Our venues change throughout the town but the calibre of performers on stage is consistently top notch. You can expect smaller venues with unique and intimate performances with the artists as well as larger venues offering a bigger musical experience.

Running August-September, each Saturday at 7:30 pm, Musique Royale will release an online concert featuring musicians in historic provincial venues across Nova Scotia. These virtual concerts will each remain available for viewing for two weeks. Stay tuned in the next day as we announce our first concert to be released on Saturday August 1st at 7:30 pm!

Join Wile Carding Mill Museum for a virtual felted soap workshop. We will show you how to turn your bar of soap into a practical one of a kind pieces of art. The workshop will be running on our Facebook page for Sun, Sept. 13 only, starting at 9am. All you need is a bar of soap, hot water, and old nylon sock, and wool. If you need to purchase wool, wool roving is available in our gift shop. Send us a picture of your completed pieces. 902-543-8233.
