St. John's Lutheran Church in Mahone Bay will be holding a large yard sale on Saturday October 1 from 9am-3pm (BBQ starting at 11 am) and homemade baked goods and Sunday October 2 from 1230-330pm. Lots of items and something for everyone.

This is a process in which cabbage is shredded, salted, and stomped in a barrel and then allowed to ferment for 4 to 6 weeks.
This weekend staff will be making kraut using tools that would have been needed to make enough for a family’s winter needs.

Put on some comfortable footwear and join renowned local historian Peter Oickle for a walking tour of Brookside Cemetery this coming week! Peter will be giving his latest and greatest tour of Brookside Cemetery Participants are asked to gather near the York Street entrance, just north of the Cenotaph.
The cost for this event is $5 per person with proceeds going to support the Friends of the DesBrisay Museum Society. Children under 12 are free.
The next upcoming walking tour is planned for November 8, which will be a special pre-Remembrance Day walk

Chester Community Market at the
Chester Legion (14 Union Street) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Free Admission! We
are a community market featuring local entrepreneurs providing a great
selection of items. Vendor items vary month to month, however, visitors to our
market will be greeted by wonderful arts & crafts, beautiful knits &
quilts, jewelry & bath items, candles & comic books, kid’s clothes
& sail bags, Watkins & Epicure, baked goods & sweet/savoury treats,
.... and so much more. You can find us at the Chester Legion (14 Union St.,
Chester) on the first Saturday of the month. We look forward to seeing you

December 10th will be our family holiday party & gingerbread house decorating event, it will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm. Cost is $20child/ parents free, those who attend will get the opportunity to decorate their own gingerbread house, make an ornament, play field games and more! Registration can be done by calling 902-543-5348.
