Known for having some of the area’s best fishing, Indian Falls also offers a picnic area, on-site privies, walking trails, rock beach and look off points. Owned by the District of Lunenburg since 2011, River Ridge Common is a 115 acre park in the north end of the Municipality. The Church Lake Public Access site includes a parking lot for 3 - 6 vehicles, a dock and boat put-in for canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats. The lake is too shallow for big boats. The dock is wheelchair accessible. Address: 311 Newburne Road, Newburne. 30 minutes from Blockhouse.

Cookville Provincial Park is a small community-operated day-use picnic park located in the South Shore region. A Playground in Hemford!  The Garber's Family Playground is a great addition to the community of Hemford for all ages! This project has been a labour of love by dedicated community members to ensure there is a space for families to gather and play.
